On September 15, 2013, in Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall, Miss America 2013 Mallory Hytes Hagan, a Pi Beta Phi, crowned her successor, another Miss New York, Nina Davuluri. She was born in Syracuse, NY, and her family moved to Michigan. Davuluri was initiated into the Michigan State Chapter of Sigma Kappa before she transferred to the University of Michigan where she affiliated with the chapter there.  Her family moved back to the Syracuse area and she won the Miss Syracuse pageant.

◊ During the pageant, most of the world was unaware of Davuluri’s Sigma Kappa affiliation. This morning (9/16/13) it was announced that Davuluri is a Sigma Kappa.  All top five contestants are members of NPC organizations (heads up to 2015 contestants, please put your affiliation in your bio).
